Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that Pakistan will not impose taxes on its agriculture sector, despite pressure from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). During a federal cabinet meeting, he stated that the IMF has been informed about the severe challenges facing Pakistan’s farming industry, and the global lender has accepted the country’s stance. The decision aims to support struggling farmers and maintain food security amid economic difficulties.
In the same address, PM Shehbaz strongly condemned Israel’s recent military strike on Iran, labeling it as an act of open aggression. He highlighted that the attack resulted in hundreds of Iranian casualties, with many martyred or wounded. Pakistan has officially denounced the assault at all diplomatic levels, reaffirming its solidarity with Iran as a neighboring brotherly nation.
The Prime Minister revealed that he personally called Iran’s President to express Pakistan’s support immediately after the attack. He urged the international community to take decisive steps to prevent further escalation and work towards regional peace. The call emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to stability in the Middle East.
