Hezbollah Pledges Continued Allegiance to Iran’s Khamenei After Israel Conflict

Hezbollah’s deputy leader, Naim Qassem, has publicly reaffirmed the Lebanese militant group’s loyalty to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The declaration came just hours after Khamenei appeared in public for the first time following a 12-day standoff between Iran and Israel. In a video statement, Qassem emphasized Hezbollah’s unwavering support, stating, “We affirm and are proud that we are with Iran and that we are under the guardianship of Imam Khamenei.”

Despite being targeted by Israeli airstrikes in late 2023, Hezbollah did not intervene during the recent escalation between Iran and Israel. Qassem claimed that there was “unprecedented popular consensus” in Iran rallying behind Khamenei’s leadership amid external threats. He portrayed the Supreme Leader as a resilient figure guiding the nation through adversity.

Qassem further praised Khamenei as a “brave, wise, and inspiring leader who overcomes difficulties and stands in the field, fearless of blame while on God’s path and confident in victory.” The strong rhetoric highlights the deepening ideological and military ties between Hezbollah and Tehran.

As tensions in the Middle East remain high, Hezbollah’s renewed pledge of allegiance underscores the group’s role as a key Iranian proxy. Analysts suggest this could signal further coordination between Tehran and its allies in future confrontations with Israel and the West. The situation continues to evolve, with regional stability hanging in the balance.
