President Zardari Finalizes Seniority List for Islamabad High Court Judges

President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the seniority order of judges at the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The Ministry of Law and Justice issued an official notification in this regard, following the Supreme Court’s decision on June 19. The move aims to bring clarity to the judicial hierarchy and ensure smooth court operations.

According to the notification, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq has been designated as the most senior judge of the IHC. He will be followed by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani in second place and Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb in third. Additionally, three judges, including Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq, have been permanently transferred to the IHC.

The seniority list includes a total of 12 judges, with Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri ranked fourth, Justice Babar Sattar fifth, and Justice Arbab Tahir seventh. Other judges, such as Justice Saman Raftat and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, have been placed at eighth and ninth positions, respectively.

The notification further clarifies that Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, and Justice Muhammad Asif will serve as permanent judges of the IHC. This decision is expected to strengthen the judicial system by ensuring a structured and transparent hierarchy within the court.
