Pakistan Clinches Asian Youth Netball Championship Title

Pakistan’s youth netball team triumphed at the Asian Youth Netball Championship, securing a decisive 60-35 victory over the Maldives in the final on Friday. The tournament, held in South Korea, saw the Green Shirts maintain an unbeaten run, showcasing their dominance from start to finish. State-run Radio Pakistan reported the win, highlighting the team’s exceptional performance throughout the competition.

Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan displayed their strength by defeating Japan 64-39 in the semi-finals. Their journey to the final also included a solid 49-39 win against the Maldives in the quarter-finals. The team’s consistent high-scoring performances demonstrated their skill and determination on the court.

The Pakistan Netball Federation celebrated the victory, with Chairman Mudassir Arian, President Sameen Malik, and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz extending their congratulations to the players and coaching staff. The federation praised the team’s hard work and dedication, which led to this remarkable achievement on the international stage.

The championship, held from June 27 to July 4 at Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea, featured 11 teams divided into two groups. Group A included Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and India, while Group B consisted of Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, the Maldives, and Saudi Arabia. Pakistan’s victory marks a proud moment for the nation in youth sports.
