Brad Pitt Recalls Hilarious Method Acting Mishap with Beans

During a recent appearance on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, Brad Pitt shared a funny yet embarrassing story about his early experiences with method acting. The A-list actor revealed that while filming a scene in a cramped café, his commitment to the role led to an unexpected—and smelly—outcome. His character, who hadn’t eaten for days, was supposed to devour a plate of beans enthusiastically, which Pitt took very seriously.

Pitt described the challenging filming conditions, saying, “We’re shooting in this little tiny café. It’s full of the crew, so there’s about 60 people in there. It’s hot. You can’t breathe.” Determined to stay in character, he repeatedly powered through multiple takes of eating the beans. However, his dedication soon backfired in the most unexpected way.

After several takes, Pitt’s body reacted to the beans, resulting in an uncontrollable and unpleasant bodily function. “There was nothing I could do. I was stuck in this chair,” he admitted. The aftermath was immediate—a foul odor filled the room, forcing the entire crew to flee the café in disgust.

Laughing about the incident, Pitt concluded, “And nature took its course. Then suddenly, the most diabolical something… something descended on the crew in the whole room, and they fled the cafe.” The hilarious mishap serves as a reminder that even Hollywood stars aren’t immune to the consequences of their craft—especially when beans are involved.
