Humaira Asghar’s Death Mystery Deepens: Body Possibly Dead for Six Months, Say Police

In a startling revelation, Sindh Police’s DIG South, Asad Raza, suggested that actor-model Humaira Asghar’s body—found in her Defence Phase 6 flat on Tuesday—might have been deceased for six months. Evidence includes expired food items (2024 expiry) and her last phone messages from October 2024. The grim discovery occurred when a bailiff arrived to evict her over unpaid rent.

Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed confirmed the body was in an “advanced stage of decomposition,” making immediate cause-of-death determination impossible. While DNA and chemical samples were collected, results are pending. DIG Raza added that Asghar’s last contact was with an online taxi driver, her electricity was long disconnected, and her final communication with the flat owner was also in 2024.

Stylist Danish Maqsood disclosed that his October 20 message to Asghar went unread, and her WhatsApp was last active on October 7. The actress, who lived alone for seven years, had minimal recent interactions, deepening the mystery. Her body has been moved to the morgue, with her family set to receive it soon.

Authorities are now reliant on forensic reports, expected in days, to unravel the timeline and circumstances of her death. Was it a medical emergency, foul play, or prolonged neglect? The case has gripped public attention, with more answers awaited.
