“No One Above the Law” – KP Governor Issues Stern Warning to PTI Founder’s Family

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has asserted that the children of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan—Suleiman and Kasim—are not beyond the reach of the law and will face legal consequences if they violate regulations. Speaking to Geo News, Kundi emphasized that while peaceful protests are a democratic right, any illegal actions would be dealt with strictly.

Addressing the PTI founder’s sons’ dual British-Pakistani citizenship, Kundi stated that if they do not hold Pakistani nationality, the matter could involve the British High Commission. However, he stressed that Pakistani law applies to all individuals within the country, just as British law governs Pakistanis in the UK.

The governor accused the PTI-led KP government of targeting Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers during political activities, warning that the party would “reap what it sows.” He reiterated that no one, regardless of status, is exempt from legal accountability.

Kundi’s remarks came after PTI announced that Imran Khan’s sons would join protests against his continued detention at Adiala Jail. The PML-N-led government has already cautioned that Suleiman and Kasim could face arrest if they violate laws during demonstrations.

The 71-year-old former prime minister has been imprisoned since August 2023 following multiple cases, including corruption and terrorism charges, after his ouster via a no-confidence motion in April 2022. The latest developments signal escalating tensions between PTI and state authorities.

The governor’s statements reinforce the government’s stance on rule of law, setting the stage for potential legal confrontations if PTI’s protests escalate.
