The Sindh government has finalized preparations for Maarka-e-Haq (Battle of Right) and Independence Day (August 14) celebrations across the province. Chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, a high-level meeting—attended by provincial ministers, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, and divisional mayors via video link—approved a series of large-scale but coordinated events to commemorate Pakistan’s freedom struggle.
Month-Long Festivities Kick Off August 1
The celebrations will begin on August 1 and continue through August 15 (or potentially all month), featuring fisheries rallies, family festivals at divisional levels, and shopping centers adorned with lights and national anthems. Memon emphasized branding campaigns in every district, including one central grand ceremony per city. Operation Bunyan Marsoos—a symbolic tribute to national resilience—will also be part of the events.
National Pride on Display
Strict directives ensure national flags on all government vehicles, public transport, and key landmarks. Memon proposed launching an ongoing tree-planting drive to promote environmental patriotism. The Quaid’s Mausoleum in Karachi will host the flagship ceremony, reinforcing the province’s commitment to unity and heritage.
