Pakistan Hosts Regional Defence Chiefs Conference to Enhance Security and Cooperation

ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to fostering a secure, peaceful, and prosperous regional environment through strategic cooperation and defence diplomacy during the Regional Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference held in Islamabad. The event brought together senior military leaders from the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, marking a significant milestone in regional security collaboration.

The conference, held under the theme “Strengthening Bonds, Securing Peace,” focused on deepening multilateral cooperation in defence, especially in counterterrorism, joint training exercises, and knowledge sharing. Participants engaged in extensive discussions about evolving regional security trends, geopolitical changes in Central and South Asia, and the pressing need for joint responses to transnational threats.

Welcoming the defence delegations, Field Marshal Munir highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peace and regional stability. He stressed the importance of enhanced military-to-military cooperation, mutual trust, and continued strategic dialogues in addressing hybrid threats and ensuring collective security among partner nations.

The participating countries expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s leadership and hospitality, recognizing the country’s vision in initiating this forward-looking defence diplomacy platform. They reaffirmed their commitment to upholding sovereignty, combating terrorism and extremism, and tackling cyber insecurity through joint collaborative efforts, concluding the conference with a united call for sustained security cooperation.
