Pakistani students have brought glory to the nation by securing top honours at the 2nd International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO-2025) held in Kuala Lumpur. The team won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, competing against participants from 19 countries, including China, Japan, Singapore, and Türkiye. This remarkable achievement underscores Pakistan’s growing prowess in nuclear science education.
Muhammad Tayyab Bukhari from Beaconhouse School Abbottabad clinched the gold medal, while Ammar Asad Warraich of Siddique Public School Islamabad secured silver. Their success reflects the dedication of young Pakistani minds in mastering complex scientific disciplines. The event, organized under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), provided a platform for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills on a global stage.
Adding to Pakistan’s medal tally, Rawah Javed (Siddique Public School) and Tatheer Aima Naqvi (Chenab College Jhang) earned bronze medals. The team was mentored by Dr. Sajjad Tahir (PIEAS) and Dr. Muhammad Maqsood (PAEC), whose guidance played a crucial role in their success. These achievements highlight the impact of institutions like PIEAS and PAEC in fostering scientific talent.
This victory not only celebrates individual brilliance but also reinforces Pakistan’s commitment to advancing nuclear science for peaceful applications in healthcare, agriculture, and industry. As the country continues to participate in global scientific forums, such accomplishments inspire the next generation of researchers and innovators, paving the way for a brighter, knowledge-driven future.
