Terror Attacks Claim Seven Lives in KP, Including Four Security Personnel

Four security personnel and three civilians were killed in separate attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak district and Peshawar, officials confirmed on Wednesday. The incidents come amid a surge in militant violence since the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.

In the first attack, unidentified assailants targeted a Frontier Constabulary (FC) vehicle in Karak’s Garagri area, martyring four personnel, including a driver. KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi strongly condemned the assault, with Gandapur vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice. The CM’s office praised the sacrifices of security forces, stating, “We salute the martyrs and their families for their bravery.”

In a separate incident late Tuesday night, three people, including police inspector Ali Hussain, were shot dead by armed assailants on motorbikes in Peshawar’s Warsak Road area. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Masood Ahmed said the attackers used a pistol and submachine gun, with investigations and geofencing underway. Governor Kundi denounced the attack as “inhumane” and extended condolences to the victims’ families.

The latest violence follows last month’s attack in Karak, where a police officer was martyred at a post near Koh-i-Maidan. Authorities remain on high alert as terror threats persist, particularly in KP and Balochistan, with security forces intensifying operations against militant groups.
