Senator Sherry Rehman has demanded a thorough investigation into the massive Rs. 6 trillion losses incurred by state-owned enterprises. Speaking in the Senate, she exposed that the CEO of Pakistan Reinsurance Company received Rs. 335 million in benefits over three years, raising serious concerns about financial mismanagement.
While acknowledging that politicians may not be directly responsible, Rehman insisted that public funds must be safeguarded. “This is public money, and there must be accountability at all costs,” she declared. Her call for an independent audit highlights the urgent need for transparency to prevent further losses and restore trust in government institutions.
