Modi Poses a Regional Threat, Says Defence Minister Khawaja Asif

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a threat to the entire region and cannot be trusted.

Speaking on Geo News’ program Capital Talk, Khawaja Asif stated that Modi’s actions are politically motivated, with India’s recent military exercises being nothing more than a “political drama.” He further claimed that only Israel stands by India on the global stage.

Asif accused Modi of attempting to create a war-like environment in the region to boost his declining popularity. He pointed out that the Indian government has not even announced an investigation into the Pulwama incident.

The Defence Minister emphasized that Pakistan’s narrative against terrorism has grown stronger after the war, and stressed the need for increased defence funding, citing financial needs of the armed forces. He also drew a stark contrast between former COAS General Bajwa and the current army chief.

Additionally, he remarked that Trump’s statements on Kashmir deeply troubled India, and asserted that it won’t be easy for India to block Pakistan’s water supply.
