Protest Held Near Razaqabad Against Indus Motor, Honda and Toyota Showrooms; Sit-in Announced Over Unemployment

Malir (Reporter) Local youth, joined by political and social leaders, staged a protest demonstration outside the Awami Press Club Malir against the policies of Indus Motor, Toyota, and Honda showrooms located near Razaqabad. A large number of citizens and community leaders participated in the demonstration.
The protest was led by Iqbal Kalmati, Wahab Gabol, Sajid Gorelo, Faiz Hisbani, and Azadar Chandio. Demonstrators carried banners and placards inscribed with slogans such as “Provide Jobs” and “Stop Injustice Against Locals.”
Protesters alleged that Indus Motor, which is established on their village and local lands, is hiring people from outside instead of giving jobs to the local youth, which they termed as blatant injustice. Leaders added that while the constitution and law guarantee equal rights to every citizen, unfortunately even large national and multinational companies are violating these basic rights. The demonstrators gave a one-week ultimatum, warning that if their legitimate demands were not met and employment was not provided to local youth, they would stage an indefinite sit-in outside Indus Motor and intensify their movement.
Local youth further complained that they are forced to live under severe hardship due to unemployment, inflation, and lack of resources, while billions of rupees worth of projects are ongoing in their area, yet locals are excluded from them.
The protesters also called on the government and administration to intervene immediately and ensure jobs for the local population.
