Tando Jam (Report Munsif Ahmed Talpur) In Tando Jam, a worker was severely injured when the ceiling plaster of a residential quarter in the Agricultural Research Institute’s colony collapsed.
The victim has been identified as Mahboob Khaskheli, Central Deputy General Secretary of the employees’ organization “Saranga.”
He was shifted to the Rural Health Center in critical condition. Speaking to the media, Mahboob Khaskheli said he was asleep at home when the ceiling plaster suddenly fell with a loud crash, leaving him injured and damaging valuable household items.
Following the incident, leaders of the employees’ organization “Saranga,” including Mumtaz Baloch and General Secretary Sharif Kathio, reached the hospital. Talking to reporters, they said this was not the first incident, as several quarters’ ceilings had collapsed earlier.
Despite repeated complaints and warnings, the administration has failed to take action. Union Council 63 Chairman Syed Haider Shah also visited the hospital. He stated that the residential quarters of the Agricultural Research Institute are in a dilapidated condition and no longer suitable for living.
He demanded urgent repair and rehabilitation measures from the concerned department.
