Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani declared that education and preaching are the fundamental Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), whose teachings served to transform the world into a global center for knowledge and peace. He made these remarks while addressing the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference in Multan. Gilani stated that the annual conference, organized by Anjuman Islamia, aims to disseminate the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings and reinforce the tradition of celebrating his birth anniversary.
Gilani underscored that true and lasting revolution is only possible through the promotion of education. He highlighted his family’s historic role in this mission, noting the establishment of pivotal institutions such as Islamia High Schools at Haram Gate and Daulat Gate, Shaukat Kindergarten, and others. “Even today, these institutions continue to spread knowledge,” he remarked, citing Islamia High Schools, Alimdar Hussain Degree College, and the prestigious Gilani Law College as leading educational centers in Multan.
Emphasizing a legacy of service, the Chairman Senate maintained that his family has always been guided by the principles of serving others and an unwavering commitment to their ideology. He philosophically noted that those who work with a clear and principled ideology secure their place in history and remain alive in the hearts and minds of people long after they are gone.
The conference witnessed a significant gathering of esteemed personalities. Attendees included Sajjada Nashin of Musa Pak Shaheed shrine, Syed Abul Hassan Gilani, prominent politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, President Anjuman Islamia Syed Imran Hassan Gilani, and numerous other Gilani family members, scholars, notables, and a large number of citizens from Multan.
