Dadu Family Alleges Police Brutality and Extortion in Custodial Torture Case

Dadu (Report: Abdul Qadir Mahesar) Raheb Jatoi, the brother of accused Sahib Khan Jatoi who was allegedly injured in a police encounter by B-Section police, complained before journalists that his brother was being tortured while in police custody.

He alleged that SHO Benazir Jamali and police officer Rashid Jamali had first taken their mother from their home, after which his brother was presented before the police. Later, the police demanded 300,000 rupees for his release. Upon refusal, they staged a fake encounter, shot him in the leg, and injured him.

He further claimed that now the police are once again torturing his brother Sahib Jatoi in custody and have stopped providing him medicine and food during his treatment. He appealed that the Sessions Judge of Dadu take notice of the matter, conduct an inquiry, and ensure justice, as his brother’s life is in danger.
