Sindh Agriculture University Excels in National Higher Education Performance Review

HYDERABAD: Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) in Tandojam has achieved a significant milestone, scoring over 90 percent in the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) Annual Performance Assessment, a result that underscores the institution’s steadfast commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.

According to SAU spokesperson Gul Sher Lochi on Tuesday, the university’s Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) attained an impressive 90.23 marks. This score earned it the “Meeting Maximum Parameters Satisfactorily (MMPS)” rating in the HEC’s evaluation for the 2023-24 academic year. The accomplishment highlights the efficacy of the university’s internal quality assurance systems and its ongoing dedication to upholding high educational standards.

The annual assessment is conducted by the HEC’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) to reinforce Internal Quality Assurance mechanisms within higher education institutions and to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement. The evaluation for 2023-24 encompassed several key areas, such as Institutional Performance Review, Self-Assessment of undergraduate and graduate programs, professional accreditation through respective councils, graduate program reviews, the operational effectiveness of the QEC Secretariat, and the implementation of specific HEC policies.

Commenting on this achievement, Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal extended his congratulations to the QEC team. He praised Director QEC Dr. Saleem Masih Bhatti, former Director Engr. Riasat Ali Kubbar, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mubeen Lodhi, and the entire team for their dedicated efforts and outstanding performance, describing the result as a major accomplishment for the university.
