HARIPUR: A four-day anti-polio campaign is currently underway in Haripur district, with security protocols mirroring those implemented across other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
To safeguard the polio vaccination teams during the drive, more than 1,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed. Detailed security measures have been enacted on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Haripur, Farhan Khan, to ensure complete protection for the health workers.
The security plan includes the establishment of checkpoints at all major entry and exit points of the district, alongside ongoing snap checking at sensitive locations. The overall security operation is being personally overseen by Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Haripur, Jamil-ur-Rehman, along with Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs).
DPO Farhan Khan has instructed all personnel to maintain a high state of vigilance and to execute their duties with the utmost dedication, given the current security context. He directed officers to personally monitor the movement and security of the polio teams and to strictly adhere to safety protocols, including the use of bulletproof jackets and helmets.
He emphasized that all officers must remain alert and cautious to ensure the campaign concludes peacefully and successfully, thereby supporting Pakistan’s crucial final push to eradicate polio.
