The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted rain and dust thunderstorms for Karachi on Monday, June 16. A westerly weather system is affecting upper regions of Pakistan, while moist winds are entering eastern Sindh, leading to unstable weather conditions. The metropolis is expected to remain cloudy with temperatures hovering between 36-38°C, accompanied by high humidity levels of 70-80% in the morning.
According to the PMD advisory, dust-thunderstorms and rain are likely in Karachi Division on Monday, with isolated showers expected in the city’s outskirts on Tuesday. The weather disturbance is part of a broader system influencing multiple parts of Sindh, including Ghotki, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Thatta, and Mirpurkhas.
Several districts in Sindh, such as Jacobabad, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Tharparkar, may also experience light to moderate rain and dust thunderstorms from June 16-17. The PMD has advised residents in these areas to remain alert, as sudden weather changes could lead to reduced visibility and minor disruptions.
While the rainfall may provide temporary relief from the heat, strong winds and dust storms could pose challenges for commuters and outdoor activities. Authorities recommend taking precautions, especially for those traveling or working in open areas. The weather is expected to stabilize by mid-week, but further updates will be issued if conditions change.
