A Library Lost: Ranipur’s Educational Hub Destroyed by Rains Yet Again

Ranipur (Report by Sajid Ansari) — The Miran Sain Public Library in Ranipur has once again fallen victim to heavy rains. Cracks have appeared in the walls, a large portion of the roof has collapsed, and hundreds of valuable books kept inside have been completely destroyed due to rainwater and dampness.

Local teachers, students, and social activists staged a strong protest, stating that due to government negligence, this educational hub has been devastated for the fourth time, yet no concrete steps have been taken for its repair or restoration. Professor Ghulam Nabi Chandio said: “The Miran Sain Library was an important source of knowledge and awareness for the youth, but its destruction has caused serious loss to students.”

Student leader Abdul Sattar Memon remarked: “We submitted several written requests to the government, but not a single department or representative responded.” Social activist Shamsuddin Lashari warned: “If the library is not repaired and restored immediately, the youth of this area will be permanently deprived of educational facilities.” Residents, students, and social activists have urged the Department of Culture and elected representatives to release funds on an urgent basis so that the library can be restored and once again serve as a beacon of knowledge for the youth.
