Ahsan Afzal Khan Faces Criticism for Role in Drama Laadli

Ahsan Afzal Khan, son of veteran actors Sahiba and Rambo, has been under the spotlight in recent weeks — but not for the reasons he might have hoped. The young actor, who graduated from LUMS and debuted in Geo TV’s Ramadan play Heer Da Hero, is currently appearing in Hum TV’s drama serial Laadli. While his parents are celebrated for their memorable on-screen pairing in Pakistani cinema, Ahsan is still working to find his footing in the industry.

Laadli has been met with widespread backlash from viewers, who have criticized its acting performances, storyline, and direction. Much of this criticism has been directed at Ahsan, with many viewers finding his acting underwhelming. A wedding scene in which his character, Rahim Khanzada, introduces himself to Nazo’s friend has particularly drawn ridicule, with fans mocking both his delivery and the dialogue itself.

Social media reactions have been harsh. Comments include accusations of nepotism, with one viewer saying, “He doesn’t know how to act but got the role because of his parents.” Others mocked him as an “overactor” and even compared him unfavorably to K-pop star Jungkook, suggesting he tries to emulate the BTS member. Some also bluntly labeled his performance as “third-class acting,” questioning how he was cast in the first place.

Beyond Ahsan’s individual performance, the drama’s dialogue writing has also been a point of contention. Several fans called the lines “stupid” and poorly written, adding to the growing disapproval surrounding the show. With criticism mounting, both the drama and its young lead face a tough challenge in winning back audience support.
