ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is in the final stages of preparation for its 2025 convocation, marking another milestone in its academic legacy. Under the dynamic leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, who took office in November 2023, all university departments – including Examinations, Admissions, and Administration – are working diligently to ensure the event’s success. This will be the second consecutive convocation organized under Dr. Mahmood’s tenure, following the highly successful 2024 ceremony, further cementing the university’s commitment to academic excellence.
In a student-centric approach, AIOU will once again conduct chapter-wise convocation ceremonies across major cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta, during October and November 2025. This innovative format, introduced last year, allows graduates to receive their degrees in cities nearest to their residences, eliminating travel burdens and making the occasion more accessible. Thousands of students will be honored for their academic achievements during these ceremonies, which serve as a testament to their hard work and dedication.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Nasir Mahmood emphasized that AIOU continues to play a pivotal role in promoting higher education through its progressive policies, digital innovations, and student-friendly initiatives. He noted that these convocations are not just celebratory events but also reflect the university’s administrative efficiency and academic stature. As AIOU prepares to welcome its graduates, the 2025 convocations promise to be a memorable celebration of knowledge, perseverance, and institutional pride.
