ANP’s Samar Bilour Switches Allegiance to PML-N Ahead of Martyred Husband’s Death Anniversary

PESHAWAR: In a major political shake-up, Samar Bilour, a prominent leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) and widow of the late Haroon Bilour, has officially joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

High-Profile Meeting with PM Shehbaz
The decision was finalized during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, where Bilour expressed her confidence in the PML-N’s leadership and policies. Senior party leaders, including Rana Sanaullah, Amir Muqam, and Sardar Yousaf, were also present.

A Blow to ANP
Samar Bilour, a former Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA), had been inactive in ANP due to internal disagreements. Her defection comes just a day before the 7th death anniversary of Haroon Bilour, who was martyred in a 2018 suicide attack during election campaigning.

Commitment to KP’s Development
During the meeting, Bilour praised the PM’s economic policies and vowed to work for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s progress under PML-N’s banner. PM Shehbaz welcomed her, acknowledging her dedication to public service.

This move is expected to reshape KP’s political landscape ahead of future elections
