Armed Robbers Terrorize Mehar; Public Outraged Over Police Inaction

Mehar( Report by Mujeeb Rahman Qambrani) Four unknown armed men on motorcycles blocked the road at Ayaz Colony Chowk on Mehar Court Road and took passersby hostage for half an hour. They looted medical stores, Easy Load shops, and grocery stores, taking away hundreds of thousands of rupees.

The incident was captured on video, which has gone viral on social media, showing the armed men threatening people and warning them not to come near. The incident caused panic in the area, especially among the students of a private school nearby. After the incident, the Chairman of Shahri Itehad Mehar, Niaz Ali Buriro, along with a large number of citizens, traders, and shopkeepers, reached the scene and condemned the incident.

The owners of the medical store and grocery shop, Asif Ali Irfan Kumbhar and Naem Kumbhar, protested and lodged a complaint, stating that the armed men had looted Rs 1.3 million in cash and three mobile phones from their shops. They demanded that the authorities take notice of the incident and provide them with justice and security. The shopkeepers alleged that despite informing the police, they failed to reach the scene on time. They claimed that this was not the first incident of robbery in the area and demanded that the authorities take action to restore law and order and recover the looted money.
