Awami Press Club Malir and KUJ Workers’ Delegation Condoles with Family of Martyred Journalist Imtiaz Mir

Malir (Correspondent) A joint delegation of the Awami Press Club Malir and the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) Workers visited the residence of martyred journalist and anchorperson Imtiaz Mir to express their condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family.
The delegation included KUJ leader Sami Memon, senior journalists Tariq Sehto, Asghar Memon, Nadir Waseer and several other media professionals. Meeting with the late journalist’s brothers, nephews and other relatives, the delegation members said that Imtiaz Mir’s martyrdom was not only a loss to the journalistic community but also a major blow to society as a whole.
They stated that Imtiaz Mir had always prioritised truth and the highlighting of public issues throughout his professional career, remaining committed to journalistic principles even at the cost of his life. The delegation urged the Sindh government and law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and dignity of journalists and to promptly arrest and severely punish the perpetrators of Imtiaz Mir’s murder in order to prevent such incidents in the future On this occasion, the family of the deceased thanked the delegation for their visit and expressed their appreciation. They said Imtiaz Mir’s sacrifice would always be remembered and called upon the government to provide both financial and moral support to the martyred journalist’s family and to ensure the case is brought to a speedy and just conclusion.
