ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday to discuss the country’s evolving political situation. According to sources, the conversation also included deliberations on the ongoing power-sharing arrangement between the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Bilawal was accompanied by Senator Sherry Rehman and First Lady Aseefa Bhutto during the meeting. The PPP chairman also took the opportunity to offer condolences to the Prime Minister over the passing of his cousin, Mian Shahid Shafi. He prayed for the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family, while also contacting the deceased’s elder brother, Javed Shafi, by phone to express his sympathies.
The meeting was attended by several key government figures, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Public Affairs Unit Rana Mashar Iqbal, and PM’s Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah. Discussions reportedly covered both political coordination and governance matters.
Other attendees included Minister of State for Food Security Malik Rashid Ahmed, Minister of State for Power Division Abdul Rehman Kanju, MNA Saira Afzal Tarar, Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan, and PM’s Special Assistant Talha Burki. The gathering reflected the coalition’s efforts to maintain political consensus and manage critical national affairs collaboratively.
