KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari stated on Saturday that his party formally voices its objections concerning various issues to the federal government.
Speaking to the media, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari emphasized that matters pertaining to Karachi’s development projects and water supply should be resolved in strict adherence to the Constitution and the provisions of the 18th Amendment.
“We would welcome the prime minister’s interest in initiating further development work in Sindh,” he remarked. He added that the prevailing political climate would be reviewed during the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting. “I have met with the prime minister and will apprise the CEC of our discussions,” Bilawal stated.
Commenting on the situation in Gaza, the former foreign minister of Pakistan said the territory has been subjected to genocide for the past two years, noting that recent developments represent a significant diplomatic success.
The PPP’s CEC meeting, which will be jointly chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, is scheduled for 4:00 pm today in Karachi.
During the session, the CEC will be briefed on the ongoing negotiations with the federal government. Party members will also receive details about the meeting between the President, the party chairman, and the prime minister, as well as the implementation status of the power-sharing agreement in Punjab.
The meeting is also expected to address recent anti-PPP statements made by the Punjab chief minister and other provincial ministers.
