Dar, Malaysian PM Discuss Enhanced Bilateral Ties at ASEAN Forum

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a significant meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during the 32nd ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial Meeting in Putrajaya. Dar conveyed heartfelt greetings from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and reiterated Pakistan’s strong desire to further strengthen its relationship with Malaysia. He also lauded Malaysia’s role as the incoming ASEAN Chair for 2025.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim warmly reciprocated the sentiments and expressed his eagerness for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s scheduled visit to Malaysia in October. The meeting highlighted the mutual commitment to expanding cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, and regional diplomacy.

Dar extended his gratitude for Malaysia’s exceptional hospitality and the seamless organization of the ASEAN forum. He also acknowledged the tangible progress in bilateral trade and investment following PM Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to Pakistan in October 2023, emphasizing the growing economic partnership between the two nations.

The discussions underscored the shared vision of both countries to enhance collaboration in regional and global forums.
