Federal Budget 2025-26 to Be Presented in NA Today

ISLAMABAD – Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the federal budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 in the National Assembly today (Tuesday), with total expenditures estimated at around Rs17.573 trillion. The session, beginning at 5 PM under Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, will also see the presentation of the Finance Bill 2025, revenue targets, and related financial documents.

The FBR is expected to meet an ambitious tax collection target of Rs14.131 trillion, while non-tax revenue is projected at Rs5.167 trillion. Provinces will receive Rs8.2 trillion under the NFC Award, leaving the Centre with Rs11.072 trillion in net receipts. Key budget allocations include Rs2.55 trillion for defence, Rs1.05 trillion for pensions, Rs1.186 trillion in subsidies, and Rs1 trillion for development. Public sector employees may see pay raises between 7.5% and 10%, with a potential 30% Disparity Allowance for grades 1–16. Budget debates will begin on June 13, and the Finance Bill will be taken up for approval on June 26.
