Dadu (Report: Abdul Qadir Mahesar) Due to the rising water level in the Indus River, the riverine (katcha) areas of Dadu have been submerged, affecting more than 50 villages.
To review the situation, Deputy Commissioner Dadu, Syed Murtaza Ali Shah, visited different parts of the riverine belt. He reached the village of Chatto Mastoi, where he met with locals and inquired about the details. On this occasion, villagers informed him about their problems and the current situation.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the affected people of full cooperation and assistance. He also inspected the condition of protective embankments and directed the administration to remain fully prepared to deal with any emergency.
He stated that a survey report of the riverine areas has already been prepared, according to which boats will be provided at four locations to ensure smooth transportation for the residents. Furthermore, the Assistant Commissioner has been instructed to immediately arrange boats.
Medical camps have also been set up in the affected villages to provide healthcare facilities to the local population. Special orders have also been issued to the concerned authorities for constant monitoring and strengthening of embankments.
