Haseebullah Khan Denies Switching Allegiance to England, Reaffirms Commitment to Pakistan

Wicketkeeper-batter Haseebullah Khan has dismissed rumors about switching his cricket allegiance from Pakistan to England, clarifying in an Instagram post that he remains dedicated to representing Pakistan on the international stage. The speculation arose after social media reports suggested he had met with England Cricket Board (ECB) officials to discuss a potential future in English cricket.

In his statement, Haseebullah explained that his visit to England was solely related to his domestic county contract and sponsorship commitments. “I would like to inform you all that I have arrived in England in connection with my domestic county contract and sponsorship obligations,” he wrote. He firmly denied any intention of changing national teams, stating, “I remain fully committed to representing my country, Pakistan, with utmost dedication and passion.”

The 22-year-old has represented Pakistan in three T20 Internationals, scoring 36 runs at an average of 12. He was also part of the Quetta Gladiators in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), though he featured in only one match, scoring seven runs. Despite limited opportunities at the highest level, Haseebullah has shown promise in domestic T20 cricket, amassing 599 runs in 35 matches, including three half-centuries, at an average of 19.96 and a strike rate of 118.37.

Haseebullah’s clarification comes amid growing concerns over Pakistani players exploring opportunities abroad. His statement reassures fans of his loyalty to Pakistan cricket, as he aims to cement his place in the national team in the coming years. The young wicketkeeper-batter will now focus on honing his skills, both in domestic circuits and potential future international assignments for Pakistan.
