The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket Ireland have mutually agreed to postpone Ireland’s scheduled white-ball tour of Pakistan, originally set for September this year. The series, comprising three ODIs and three T20Is, will now be rescheduled for 2027 when a suitable window becomes available.
The decision comes due to Pakistan’s congested international calendar in the coming months. Following the ongoing West Indies series, Pakistan will participate in a tri-nation T20 tournament from August 29 to September 7, followed immediately by the Asia Cup from September 9 to 28.
Both boards emphasized that the postponement was made to ensure optimal preparation and competitive scheduling for both teams. A PCB spokesperson stated that the rescheduling allows for better alignment of future bilateral commitments while maintaining the spirit of cooperation between the two cricketing nations.
Cricket Ireland confirmed its commitment to touring Pakistan in 2027, marking what would be Ireland’s first bilateral series in the country. The PCB assured that alternative arrangements would be explored to fill the gap in the 2024-25 season, ensuring fans do not miss out on high-quality cricket action.
