The Jaffar Express faced another terrorist attack when an explosion on the railway track near Mastung caused six carriages to derail. The blast occurred close to Spezand Railway Station while the train was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident, according to railway officials.
Security forces quickly secured the area, and an investigation has been launched to determine the nature of the explosion. This is not the first time the Jaffar Express has been targeted—the train has repeatedly come under attack in recent months.
Just days before this incident, the railway track was damaged in a separate bomb blast. Earlier, unidentified militants had opened fire on the train’s pilot engine. On March 11, Baloch militants ambushed the train near Bolan, taking 380 passengers hostage before security forces intervened, killing 33 attackers and rescuing all hostages.
The repeated attacks highlight the persistent security threats faced by railway infrastructure in the region. Authorities remain on high alert as they work to prevent further incidents and ensure passenger safety on this critical route.
