Jannik Sinner Clinches China Open Title with Dominant Victory

World number two Jannik Sinner captured his third title of the season with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 win over American teenager Learner Tien in the China Open final. The victory marks the 21st tour-level trophy of Sinner’s career and solidifies his return to top form after a physically demanding semi-final, where he battled a stomach bug.

From the outset, Sinner showed no signs of his previous discomfort, immediately breaking Tien’s serve in the opening game. He maintained control throughout the first set with solid play, sealing it with a confident hold. The Italian’s precision and power kept his young opponent under constant pressure.

Tien, competing in his first-ever ATP final and aiming to become the youngest American champion since Andy Roddick in 2002, fought to find a foothold in the second set. He earned two break opportunities, but Sinner’s resilience shone through as he saved both and steadily built a 4-2 lead.

With this win, Sinner did more than just claim another title; he etched his name in the tournament’s history books. He became only the second man, after the legendary Novak Djokovic, to win multiple China Open crowns, successfully defending the title he first won in 2023.
