KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) confirmed on Tuesday that 19 minor earthquakes have shaken Karachi since Sunday, with the latest tremor measuring 2.8 magnitude near Malir at 9:57am.
The seismic activity has been concentrated in Landhi, Quaidabad, Malir, and Korangi, with depths ranging between 11 to 40 kilometres. The strongest recent quake, a 3.2 magnitude tremor, struck near Korangi early Tuesday at a shallow depth of 11 km.
While no damage or injuries have been reported, the frequent tremors have unsettled residents. Experts are monitoring the situation, but no major seismic threat has been issued yet.
