Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Adviser for Information, Barrister Dr. Saif, has underscored the importance of collaboration with Afghanistan to effectively tackle terrorism in the region. In a recent statement, he highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to maintaining law and order under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Barrister Saif revealed that a tribal jirga was held in Bajaur today (Monday) at the Chief Minister’s House, following similar consultations in Khyber and Orakzai. Tribal elders and key stakeholders are actively discussing security challenges in the region. These jirgas are part of a broader initiative after the All Parties Conference (ACP), with plans to convene a Grand Jirga to finalize recommendations for lasting peace.
The KP Information Adviser emphasized that ensuring stability in the merged tribal districts, which border Afghanistan, remains the government’s top priority. He stressed that public trust and cooperation are vital for the success of law enforcement efforts. Additionally, he reiterated that effective counter-terrorism strategies require strong coordination between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Barrister Saif reaffirmed the provincial government’s resolve to implement sustainable peace measures, which will be presented to relevant forums for further action. The ongoing consultations with tribal leaders aim to devise a comprehensive approach to security, ensuring long-term stability in the region.
