Johi (Report by Mansoor Gadehi) In the ongoing land dispute between the Mastoi and Laghari communities near Johi, members of the Mastoi community — Ali Akbar Mastoi, Haji Anwar Mastoi, Umar Mastoi, and Roshan Mastoi — addressed the media, alleging that the Laghari group is trying to forcibly occupy their legally purchased land.
They claimed that the Laghari community previously blocked roads, attacked them, and even opened fire openly at Naka Chowk in Johi. A week ago, the Laghari men allegedly attacked their homes and fired gunshots. According to them, to strengthen their claim on the land, the Laghari side deliberately killed their own young man, Ali Nawaz Laghari, and falsely registered a case against the Mastoi community.
They added that despite several decisions by local elders confirming that the land belongs to the Mastoi family, the attacks and harassment continue. The Mastoi community is demanding a full judicial inquiry into the killing of Ali Nawaz Laghari.
They accused the Laghari community of using the political backing of a female MPA to carry out armed attacks, road blockages, and to spread fear in their village. The Mastoi community has appealed to the IGP Sindh, DIG Hyderabad, SSP Dadu, and the Sessions Judge to fully investigate the matter and provide them protection,
