PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has escalated its probe into the massive Rs40 billion Kohistan corruption scandal, converting the inquiry into a full-fledged investigation after uncovering luxury vehicles, high-end properties, and billions in illicit assets.
Luxury Bungalows, Cars & Cash Recovered
NAB has frozen assets worth Rs25 billion, including a notable bungalow featured in the drama Pari Zaad and 77 luxury vehicles (Mercedes, BMW, Porsche Taycan, Toyota Land Cruiser) worth Rs940 million. Additionally, the bureau has seized:
✔ Rs1 billion in cash & foreign currency
✔ 3 kg of gold
✔ Rs5 billion in 73 frozen bank accounts
✔ 109 properties (30 houses, 25 flats, 12 plazas, 4 farmhouses)
High-Profile Arrests Imminent
Sources confirm that key suspects—govt officials, contractors, and bankers—will be arrested within 24-48 hours. The scandal involves brazen embezzlement, where accused parties siphoned billions from public funds unchecked.
A Well-Planned Heist
Investigators reveal the fraud was meticulously executed through collusion between corrupt officials and private actors. The scale of looting—spanning Islamabad, Peshawar, Abbottabad, and Mansehra—exposes deep-rooted corruption in KP’s development projects.
As NAB tightens its grip, more shocking revelations are expected.
