ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis across the country are celebrating 78 years of independence today with heightened national pride, fueled by the recent triumph of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos (Marka-e-Haq)—a decisive military success against India.
The day commenced with 31-gun salutes in Islamabad and 21-gun tributes in provincial capitals, followed by special prayers for the nation’s prosperity. Streets, buildings, and vehicles are draped in green and white, while vendors sell flags, badges, and festive attire.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hoisted the national flag at Pakistan Monument, inaugurating a grand defence exhibition at Shakarparian. The display features tanks, artillery, radars, and aircraft used in Marka-e-Haq, alongside PAF flypasts, para-jumping demos, and military band performances.
