“No Rift with Babar Azam” – Pakistan Captain Salman Ali Agha Shuts Down Rumors

Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has strongly denied rumors of a fallout with former skipper Babar Azam, labeling the speculation as completely unfounded. Speaking after Pakistan’s 3-0 series victory over Bangladesh, Salman emphasized his long-standing friendship with Babar, dating back to their school days in 2008.

“Babar and I go way back—long before social media even existed,” Salman told reporters. “I never followed him online, so this ‘unfollow’ drama is nonsense. People just love creating stories.” To further dispel the rumors, he later shared an Instagram story with Babar, playfully captioning it “Meanwhile Us.”

The 30-year-old all-rounder also expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s dominant performance, praising the young players for their fearless approach. “I’m thrilled with how the youngsters have stepped up. We want to play aggressive, entertaining cricket that excites our fans,” he said.

Looking ahead, Salman confirmed Pakistan’s upcoming tours to Bangladesh and the West Indies, hinting at possible spin reinforcements for Caribbean conditions. On the Asia Cup, he suggested Dubai as the likely venue, which would favor Pakistan’s current playing style.

“Under my leadership, we’ll keep playing proactive, high-pressure cricket,” he asserted. “We tried this in New Zealand too, but conditions forced some adjustments.”
