“One-Seat Majority Enough To Topple KP Govt,” Says Governor Kundi

Bhit Shah  – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday warned that the opposition could overthrow the PTI-led provincial government with even a one-member majority in the assembly, though he clarified that no such move was currently planned.

The opposition can bring a no-trust motion against the KP government whenever it wants,” he said while speaking to media at the 282nd Urs celebrations of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

The governor vowed to back “anyone who brings peace to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

Taking aim at PTI, he questioned, “Did those who vandalized martyrs’ monuments on May 9 come from India or Israel?” and ruled out any NRO for the party.“PTI members should seek court relief; wrongdoers will face consequences,” he asserted.

Kundi’s remarks come amid heightened tensions between the ruling PTI and opposition parties in KP. While he dismissed immediate plans to destabilize the government, his emphasis on the opposition’s numerical leverage signals potential volatility ahead.

Accompanied by Sindh Culture Minister Zulfiqar Shah, the governor paid homage at Bhittai’s shrine, laying a floral wreath during the annual Urs festivities.

The PTI has faced mounting pressure since the May 9 riots, with authorities cracking down on party leaders. Kundi’s rhetoric underscores the fragile balance in KP’s assembly, where a slim majority could shift power dynamics abruptly.
