A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) contingent has arrived in the United Kingdom to participate in the prestigious Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025, scheduled from July 18-20. The delegation, comprising cutting-edge JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter jets and a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, landed at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, marking Pakistan’s prominent presence at one of the world’s largest military airshows.
Showcasing Indigenous Aviation Excellence
The ISPR highlighted that PAF’s participation underscores Pakistan’s commitment to demonstrating its aviation prowess and operational capabilities on an international platform. The JF-17 Thunder Block-III, equipped with an advanced EASA radar and long-range Beyond Visual Range (BVR) capabilities, represents a 4.5-generation multirole fighter, capable of executing diverse combat missions.
Proving Long-Range Operational Prowess
En route to the UK, the JF-17s successfully conducted mid-air refueling operations with a PAF IL-78 tanker, showcasing the force’s ability to execute extended missions beyond national borders. This complex maneuver highlighted the exceptional skills of PAF pilots and ground crews, reinforcing the aircraft’s combat-proven reliability.
Global Anticipation for PAF’s Performance
