Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong condemnation of Israel’s recent military action against Iran during a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference, where the premier expressed heartfelt condolences for the Iranian civilians martyred in the attack.
PM Shehbaz referenced his recent telephone discussion with newly-elected Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, emphasizing Pakistan’s consistent diplomatic support. He noted that Pakistan had stood with Iran during the crucial UN Security Council deliberations, characterizing Israel’s actions as flagrant violations of both the UN Charter and established international laws.
The prime minister stressed the need for de-escalation in the region, warning that such aggressive acts threaten global peace and security. His remarks came amid growing international concern over the widening conflict in the Middle East, with Pakistan positioning itself as a voice for moderation and lawful resolution of disputes.
