The victory, achieved in just one hour and 17 minutes, was spearheaded by stellar performances from Faizanullah, Talha Maher, and Muhammad Junaid. This win ensured Pakistan topped their group with a flawless record, having not conceded a single set in all three matches.
The Green Shirts began their campaign in dominant fashion, sweeping South Korea 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-8) with standout contributions from Talha, Junaid, Wahab, Irfan, Faizan, and Sanan. They carried this momentum into their second match, crushing Saudi Arabia 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-11) with a display of superior teamwork and growing confidence. These victories underscored Pakistan’s status as one of the tournament’s strongest contenders.
With the group stage concluded, Pakistan and South Korea have both advanced to the crossover round from Pool D. Pakistan will now face the top two teams from Pool B as they aim to secure a spot in the knockout stages. The tournament, organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation, is being held across Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi, Thailand, featuring 16 teams divided into four pools.
The stakes are high, as the top four teams will earn direct qualification for the 2026 FIVB U17 World Championship, which has expanded to 24 teams. The semifinals and final of the Asian U16 Championship are set for July 19, where Pakistan will look to clinch the continental title and solidify their place among Asia’s elite volleyball nations.
