Pakistan Reaffirms Solidarity with Kashmir on Youm-e-Istehsal

Pakistan’s highest civil and military leaders have expressed strong condemnation of India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir as the nation observed Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, marking six years since India revoked Article 370 in occupied Kashmir. This act by India, described as unilateral and unlawful, radically changed the region’s demographic and political structure in defiance of international law and UN Security Council resolutions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute justly remains a vital pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

In a special message, the Prime Minister urged the international community to intervene and halt ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He called for repealing harsh laws imposed by India and stressed the importance of implementing UN resolutions concerning Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri people, denouncing India’s actions as a direct challenge to peace, stability, and human dignity.

Shehbaz Sharif described India’s occupation as unsustainable by normal means, underpinned by decades of state terrorism and oppression. Despite this, the Kashmiri people have shown tremendous courage and resilience in the face of brutal repression. The Prime Minister paid tribute to their unwavering spirit and sacrifice, emphasizing that efforts to silence Kashmiri leadership, including the imprisonment of prominent figures like Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Muhammad Yasin Malik, only strengthen their resolve.

The Prime Minister underscored that the continued defiance of Kashmiris despite unrelenting intimidation underscores the indomitable courage of the people under illegal occupation. Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri struggle for justice and human rights remains firm as it calls on the international community to recognize and act on this decades-long conflict.
