Pakistani, Bangladeshi Military Leaders Vow to Strengthen Defence Ties

Lieutenant General Md Faizur Rahman, the Quarter Master General of the Bangladesh Army, held a meeting with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The meeting, which was announced by the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Friday, focused on strengthening the longstanding ties between the two nations’ armed forces.

During their discussions, the two senior officials engaged in talks on matters of mutual interest, particularly regional security. Both leaders pledged to strengthen collaboration in the defence and security domain, highlighting a shared commitment to stability in the region.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza underscored the positive and rising trajectory of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He pointed out that the current regional landscape presents new opportunities for enhanced defence cooperation, suggesting a forward-looking approach to the partnership.

The Bangladeshi dignitary, Lieutenant General Md Faizur Rahman, praised the high level of professionalism exhibited by Pakistan’s Armed Forces. According to the ISPR, he also acknowledged and commended their significant sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
