Pakistani Stars Malik, Ajmal, and Nafay Set for Inaugural Canada Super 60

A trio of Pakistani cricketers—veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik, emerging batter Khawaja Nafay, and former spinner Saeed Ajmal—are set to feature in the inaugural Canada Super 60 tournament. The high-profile ten-over-a-side league is scheduled to run from October 8 to 13 at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver. The tournament is historic as it will be the first large-scale international cricket competition played indoors, under lights, on Canada’s West Coast.

The players have been drafted by different franchises for the fast-paced event. Shoaib Malik and the promising Khawaja Nafay will represent the Whiterock Warriors, while Saeed Ajmal has been picked by the Mississauga Masters. They will be joined by a host of other global T20 stars, including Quinton de Kock, Shakib Al Hasan, Alex Hales, and Jason Roy, who are spread across the six participating teams.

Each Pakistani player brings a distinct profile to the tournament. Malik, 42, is the fifth-highest run-scorer in T20 history, bringing immense experience. Youngster Khawaja Nafay is one of Pakistan’s brightest batting talents, having already impressed in the PSL and BPL. Saeed Ajmal, one of Pakistan’s most successful T20 bowlers, is known for his economical bowling and wealth of experience in leagues worldwide.

The Canada Super 60 represents a significant effort to bring elite, fast-paced cricket excitement to North America. With its unique indoor format and a roster filled with international stars, the tournament aims to carve out a new chapter for the sport in the region and offer a global platform for its participants.
