Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has demanded that the resistance group Hamas disarm and relinquish control over Gaza. In a letter sent to French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Abbas called for the deployment of Arab and international forces to protect the Palestinian people. He insisted that Hamas should no longer govern Gaza and must transfer its weapons and military capabilities to the Palestinian security forces.
Abbas also stated his willingness to invite Arab and international troops to Palestine as part of a stabilization and protection mission under the United Nations Security Council’s mandate. This proposal aims to bring stability and security to the region amid ongoing conflicts, signaling a potential shift in the approach to peace and security in Palestine.
