Rawalpindi: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has issued strict directives to bolster security in degree colleges and ensure that female students from grade 8 onwards are taught only by women teachers. The orders were announced on Thursday by Director Zulfikar Hussain, who instructed college administrations and school owners across Punjab to implement the measures immediately.
Under the new guidelines, colleges must enhance security by installing CCTV cameras at entry and exit points, maintaining detailed attendance records, and deploying security guards. Additionally, checkpoints are to be established, emergency exit signs displayed, and fire safety protocols strengthened. The PEF has also called for increased vigilance to curb illegal activities within educational institutions.
The foundation has further mandated that male teachers must not be assigned to teach female students in grades 8 and above. Parents and students have been encouraged to report any violations by contacting the PEF’s designated helpline. School owners failing to comply with these directives will face strict disciplinary action.
These measures aim to create a safer and more conducive learning environment for female students while ensuring adherence to educational policies. The PEF has emphasized the importance of immediate implementation, urging all stakeholders to cooperate in enforcing the new regulations effectively.
